Gallery Label:
McShane received a bachelor's degree in biology (with a concentration in pre-med) from La Salle University in 1988. Instead of enrolling in medical school, he decided to pursue a career in fine art. He studied at the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial and at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he earned an MFA in 1995.
McShane has worked for the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program since 1996 and has completed over 75 murals in the Philadelphia area, including Tribute to Jackie Robinson in North Philadelphia, and The Phillies Mural at 24th and Walnut Streets. He currently teaches for La Salle University Honors Program. This painting was part of McShane’s solo exhibition at La Salle University Art Museum, titled Which One Are You?, in 2007.
