The Agreements. Print by Jesús Escobedo.
The famous Acordadas (Agreements) were one more wound in the already bleeding Mexican countryside, to whom the people dedicated their painful heartfelt songs. Formed by rural guards, the Acordadas not only forced the peasants from their homes and lands, but they were the cruel instruments of the barbarism of the Porfirian regime. The people fought against the Acordadas, reaching an organized attack.
