The Cananea Strike: Mexican workers claim equal rights against Yankee workers. Print by Pablo O'Higgins.
Manuel M. Diéguez, Esteban Baca Calderón and numerous miners organized the glorious Cananea strike in Sonora, with the purpose of obtaining a slight improvement for their co-workers. With a sense of strength and the aid of North American troops, the strikers’ movement was dissolved and the workers' leaders were sent to the dark tinajas of San Juan de Uhía.
