La Dictadura Porfiriana exalta demagogicamente al indígena. 1910.
The Porfirian dictatorship demagogically exalts the indigenous. 1910. Print by Alfredo Zalce.
On the occasion of the lavish festivities of the first centenary of the independence of Mexico, the scientists and favorites of the regime wanted to appear before foreign visitors as though they had an endearing love for the indigenous people. Parades of dancers and cars with symbolic meaning were organized along the city streets, while in the fields the indigenous people were starving.
