Drawings such as this one help us learn more about the artistic process of court workshops. This is a pounced drawing, a very common method for making copies of an original image. It contains tiny pin holes along the lines of the drawing. This sheet would have been laid over another and powdered pigment would have been transferred through the holes, leaving an outline of the image on the new sheet below.
